any good apps for transfering files from PC to Iphone 3G
Are there any good APPs that can be recomended for trafering files from my PC to the iphone 3G? Filemagnet works great for the MAC but will not work on a PC.
"Files" works well. I have this app and have no problems with it.
Another one is MobileFinder.
As far as I know all the available apps use WiFi except for DiskAid which uses the USB cable. DiskAid is not available in the App Store. You can google it.
You can use DiskAid without hacking the iPhone, although it is far more useful if you do hack it.
Apple has decided to sandbox 3rd party apps so that they can't access any common folders (except for some photos which doesn't help the iPhone as a business tool).
I love Datacase too. It's so easy to use and you don't need any software on whatever computer you are using. All you need is a wireless network the iPhone can connect to.
The latest app doing this seems to be very popular and easy to use. It is called Air Sharing and has an introductory special of being free for the next few days before they start charging for it. For those of us who get it during the free period we won't have to pay later. It is worth downloading to try it out.
Air Sharing works with Mac OS X, Windows, Linux, and also can work directly with the major web browsers which means you can use a browser to look at all files stored in Air Sharing. Supports a wide range of formats.
Look at Air Sharing by Avatron. It changes your iPhone/itouch into a network drive for the PC and allows files to be moved. It also allows you to open files once on the iPhone.
I've been using Air Share and it works quite well. I have used it with WinXP, Win2K and Ubuntu Linux. It's even easier under Linux.
I have found a glitch in the excel spreadsheet viewer though. The first time you view a spreadsheet it scrolls and pans fine, the second time it will keep snapping back to a particular spot like it's on a spring. The PDF and Word viewer seems to work fine. The photo viewer works well also.
The only problem I see is you cannot attach files located in the folders you create with Air Share to an email or download files from an email to an Air Share folder. This is a major "hole" in usability. Will any of the other file sharing programs allow this?
