When itunes comes up the control panel consisting of the play, next song, and previous song as well as the slider bar which gives messages is gone! I tried a re-install removing all itunes files and it comes up the same way. If I use the zoom control a small control panel comes up but when I go back to itunes it disappears and the panel is gone.

can someone help me with this problem? I would really appreciate an answer.

Is there a number to call for apple support?

thanks in advance

It may be just hiding off the top of the screen. Change your display resolution and see of you can then see the top of the window. If so, drag it down before changing the resolution back to your preferred setting.

    Hope this helps.

Thanks so much ! Your advice work. I changed the resolution and changed it back and the panel appeared. i am not sure why it worked but it did. In the mean time this problem was a learning experience and I learned how to erase a file using CLEANAPP ... good product. It works well.

What I do not understand is that I had my screen at the highest resolution

It can happen that an application can slide it's window up above the top of the screen, hiding the top of the window. It's not supposed to happen, but it can. Since you can only drag a window by the title bar, there's no way to drag the window lower until you can get at the top of the window, so you have a sort of Catch-22. Changing the resolution causes Mac OS X to rewrite the screen and usually will then properly display the windows, allowing you to move the window lower so when you set back to the highest resolution, the window is no longer off the top of the screen.

    Glad it worked for you.
