My laptop can find my router network fine. I reseted my router and Iphone but my iphone still cant find any routers. I reseted the network settings too. If I try to put in the name and password manually it just says "Joining InsertNetworkNameHere" Over and over, with no results. Any suggestions?

It is an iphone 3g firmware 2.0.2

Matnoz,

Have you tried the steps in article http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1559 (even though the symptoms noted may not apply)? It provides some good general troubleshooting steps for most wi-fi connectivity issues.

Prior to that, I would double check to make sure the networks you have tested on are not hidden, and broadcast their SSID. If this is not the case, after the steps mentioned above it would be time to service your iPhone.

Hope this helps,

Raleigh

First of all thanks for your support,
Unfortunately it really doesn't work. I've tried everything, every single step, and as you said, might not appear something physical but I'm afraid the wifi is really broken for no reason (monday morning). So I guess, I have to do some service as you said, just that at the moment Im in switzerland and might be too expensive for this sort of things, probably is not much more expensive to get a new one, so I'll go and check.
Thanks again.

I am having exact same problem all of a sudden. I have PowerBook, original iPhone and iPhone 3G. The PowerBook and 3G phone both find my home network just fine, but the original no longer notices any wifi network anywhere. I have never had one issue in 1+ years of having original iphone and never had any issues after installing all software releases on original iphone. If someone has heard any response from Apple or had any luck fixing this please share. I am going to Genius Bar on Saturday an will post their response when done.

I'm having the same problem in which my laptop can connect fine to a wireless network, but my iPhone 3G cannot. I've tried resetting the network settings, resetting the phone numerous times, and nothing works.

In addition to this, I've also found that my iPhone's bluetooth no longer can connect to devices. Before I could pair my laptop & iPhone together via Bluetooth, but now I can't.

I've been to the genius bar twice regarding the issue. They tried doing a "deep" restore, and after it didn't work they told me that it's a hardware problem (which it obviously isn't because so many people are having the same problem) and that since i'm four months past my warranty, the only thing I can do is buy a new phone. I tried going to the AT&T to get a new SIM card, but that also didn't help. I spoke with someone from Apple yesterday who made me go through another restore, but to no avail. The fact that they are trying to blame the customer for something that is apparently there fault is upsetting. I'm writing a letter to the FTC if anyone wants to chime in.

Well, I'm not sure how it would impact, but maybe it turns to be a common hardware malfunctioning and they do this sort of exchange programs. So yes I'm in. Im a really good fan of this brand, I like almost everything they do, except the quality drops from time to time. I know its hard to compete with cheap markets but, its not so cheap the phone to be broken that easy, form one day to another in less than a year.

It's not like I have some grudge against Apple, on the contrary, it pretty much runs my life. I have a MBP, countless ipods, airport extreme, time capsule, etc... and I've convinced at least three others to buy MBPs and two others to buy iPhones. Their customer support is usually amazing, but this issue is ridiculous. Right now they're pretending that it's the customers' fault as opposed to their own, but if people start to do something maybe they'll fix the problem faster.

I can put my iphone just touching the airport and it doesn't work. Probably your problem was very different one, I know you might think its a matter of software, but most probably is matter of hardware. If you reset and reinstal everything from scratch, the problem should disapear, in my case it just doesn't get any wifi connection possibility at all.
I thought of making a list of apps, which probably we all have in commont that could have affected the wifi. If someone thinks that could be, we could start any time to post the apps list.

It just seems odd that nobody was having any of these issues prior to the 2.1 update, and then all of a sudden every like fourth post in the forums is regarding something along these lines. Even if it were a hardware issue, you'd think they would announce something to ease people's minds. It gets kind of old not being able to use your cell phone to make phone calls... Anyway, my apps are listed below.
