problems mounting photo card reader

Hi. My macbook pro isn't recognizing my card reader. It's a hama all-purpose photo reader with four docks. The light goes on in the reader when I insert my card, but nothing appears on desktop when I plug the reader into a USB port. Also nothing in Finder and Disk Utility. It's supposed to work in mac and PC. any ideas?

You may need a driver. Look up their website or contact the manufacture.

Can't find a driver. does it have to be a specific one? Is there a site where I can get one?

Like I said it should be found on the manufacture's website. If there isn't one try it on another computer. Also try another card of a different type. If it doesn't work then it may be a problem with the card reader.
