iPod Nano 2nd gen. won't shut off

How long should the battery last before having to recharge? It seemed to run out after sitting unplugged overnight (this was a few weeks ago) but now I just looked at it and it still shows an almost full battery after being unplugged last night. Now it seems to sleep sometimes if I just let it sit but won't turn off by pressing play/pause. I will try letting it die then try again and let you know what happens. I did the toggle thing along with the other 5 R suggestions...No help. Thanks for answering and hope the recharge thing works.

OK..I will try that. I bet that is why it ran down the 1st time, because it was playing. This time I just had it on the 1st menu page. So this makes me think that even with running it down and recharging, it still didn't work. I am going to try it one more time and see. THanks again.....will let you know.

HI: It does nothing....if it just sits by itself it will dim but any vibration or movement and the light comes back on. All I can do is keep it plugged in all the time since it won't turn off. I hope that won't hurt it. Still Frustrated with it!

I ran battery down and recharged and reset. Still will not shut off. Any vibration or movement and the light come on right away. FRUSTRATING!! Any more ideas?

If you get it figured out.....please let me know. In the mean time It is just plugged into a charger permanently (I don't use it that much either) so that I can use it.

Tried that....didn't work. No longer covered even though never used! Had it too long. Oh well, that's life I guess! Thanks anyways.
