Canon BJC55 for Mac OS X

I have two Mac laptops - a G4 Powerbook and a Mac Powerbook Pro - recently upgraded to Leopard. Neither will accept my beautifully portable Canon BJC 55 portable printer and all the drivers for the BJC55 I have seen are for OS 9. Can anyone help to get these fine machines working together? I have been able to get my BJC 85 working, but that is mains powered and less portable. (Simple guidance, please - I'm no tekkie!)

Mac, Mac OS X (10.5.4), Imac, Powerbook Pro & Powerbook

Hi PT4

Gutenprint drivers support Canon BJC-55. Try it.

Many thanks for this speedy and helpful advice. I now have the printer working mechanically - but not printing in ink, despite two replacement black cartridges! I'll have a go at using the split colour and black cartridges but would really like to run black only, as it's text that matters to me for work and social purposes.

Delighted with this first experience of the discussion site. Thanks, OZ friend!
