iMac doesn't wake up

Hi all,

Not sure if this is the right forum. I've had a few incidence of putting my iMac to sleep and when I come back, it won't wake up. At first, I attributed this to, maybe, a power blip, but now it has happened again and once my entire system just up and shut down on me with no warning.

When it doesn't wake, I can still hear that it is on and running, but I have to push the ON button twice, once to turn it off and then once to fully reboot. This doesn't happen all the time, only a small percentage. But I would rather address it now, in case it's something bad.

Have any of you experienced this before and if so, any ideas on why and how to fix it?

Thanks in advance.

Yes I have the same issue, you can read about my issue here:

Try changing the mode in which the mac sleeps to hibernate.... its not as fast but works in the interim for us. You can find out how to do that here:

You want mode 1
