Bent mouse pad?

I just got a MacBook Pro last week and I noticed that when I swipe my finger horizontally across the top part of the mouse pad...i feel a slight indention when I get towards the the center top part of the mouse pad... is that normal?

No it's not normal, the pad should be flat.

First, if it is bulging upwards, I'd suggest you take the battery out and check that there's nothing trapped under or that the battery itself is not bulging.

Second, if the deformation is notorious, you should take the computer back and have it changed.

You have 14 days to return the computer to Apple if you want to replace it. You will need to check with Best Buy on their computer return policies. Look on the back of your receipt. I believe that is where Best Buy states their return policies.
