super glue and iPhone do not mix

My iPhone (original) took a two story fall a couple of weeks ago. (forgot to button my shirt pocket and leaned over a railing) The Vaja case took the brunt of the fall, but the black plastic on the bottom of the phone cracked and started to separate from the steel rim around the screen. So, today I got out the super glue. It was an old tube of super glue, partly hardened. In order to get any out, I had to cut the nozzle back several times, and it was still hard to squeeze out, until it all came out at once. About a teaspoon of that nasty stuff came out, half all over my right hand, and the other half all over my iPhone, on the screen, on the little round push button at the bottom of the screen, on the speakers. Sigh. Five seconds earlier I'd been thinking, I really ought to try this with a new tube.

Super glue does not come off skin easily, and now my phone won't sync and although I can hear phone calls, the mic is toast.

At least I'll get the 3 G tomorrow . . .
