invisibleshield issue

Ok so I finally installed invisible shield and I have a problem on the front... In the left side of the screeen there's a weird coration like it looks like very thin multicolored lines likenthe fluid didnt fully dry or somethin.... Im not fully sure but I'm guessing this is some small imperfection? It's been more than 12 hours now and it's still there:.. Think it will fix itself in a couple days?

I don't have any discoloration on my front IS protector. I'm planning my 3rd try at installing the back protector....Thanks to IS for covering my installation issues.

Install question - are you guys able to slide the screen around to position right after you lay it on the device? I never can, it just sticks so I have to peel it up and place it again. I was able to get away with this on the front as that was easy, but it seems to me I need to be able to slide it into position for the back. Any ideas?

The rainbow coloration should go away in a few days after it cures (unless you are wearing polarized sunglasses you will see it all the time). I've been using these shields since they were mailing them off in regular #10 evelopes! For best results I'd use their old soap method (container of water, small drop of soap, mix in, wait for all bubbles to go away, and use your fingers to apply). It gives you much better sliding capability than their new install "spray" which ***** and sticks terribly not allowing you to position it freely. Good luck!

I bought fulbody Film's product just for the front cover. You get a Matte & a Clear version as well as a back protector. The clear version is great... and the trick is to get the thing on with no dust or oil present. I have one bubble left... but I will probably leave it. You can lift and re-apply the thing as many times as you want... but without a NASA clean room you may end up worse off.

It will go away after a few weeks. Because it's a water-based install, it takes way longer to fully cure. I remember having a rainbow screen (literally) for a few days before the excess moisture went away. Perfect clarity now. Small air pockets will go away too, just have patience. Even the tacky feel will eventually give way to a smoother texture.

My limited experience with invisible shield is that they take at least 24 hours to fully dry enough to even use the unit, and it takes several days to weeks for all the little bubbles and glitches to work out.

I haven't put one on my 3g - I don't really like the tacky plasticy feel they have on the devices I've put them on.

So I recently installed an invisible shield on my 3G and noticed the same thin lines the OP mentioned. I emailed Zagg customer support about it. A snippet description of my problem below:

Hi... My installation on my iPhone 3G went well, but I'm noticing some stripes on surface of the shield that are very visible when the screen is on. They are very fine lines running exactly north to south on the part of the shield covering the screen. When the phone screen is white, the lines stand out as being slightly pinkish or even a bit prism'ed (if that is a word!).

Their response was bit surprising:

The nature of the invisibleSHIELD has some limitations and it seems you have located one of the few. There can, at times, be some considerably small lines that may appear like an incredibly fine hair or scratch and this is an unavoidable quality.

If you would like, we can send you a one time courtesy replacement for the invisibleSHIELD for the Apple iPhone 3G (Full Body), but we cannot guarantee that it will be free of lines.

The minimal reshipping and handling charge is $3.95 for an estimated 1 - 2 week delivery service (three weeks internationally) and includes free application solution and squeegee.

If you choose this option, we will email you a URL (link) that will take you to a shopping cart on our website that will have the invisibleSHIELD you would like a replacement for. You can pay for the shipping and handling charge via credit card or PayPal. We will also note your account that we have issued you a one-time courtesy replacement for this invisibleSHIELD. Please keep in mind, however, that lines in the invisibleSHIELD will not be covered by our lifetime replacement guarantee in the future.

After receiving your replacement, we will request that you send your original invisibleSHIELD back to us with your order # or registration number. This will ensure that your lifetime replacement guarantee remains valid.

Sorry, ZAGG, but I must have missed the small print on your box that reads "your 'invisible' shield may contain hairlike lines that may appear on the screen of your brand new iPhone. These lines will make it appear is if pixels are missing from your screen." I mean seriously?!? I can easily count at least 30 of these lines of varying length across my screen, with 4 major ones, yet they're going to give me a "courtesy" one-time replacement and not cover these lines under future warranty? What happens if the replacement comes with 40 lines?

Didn't know this about the invisibleSHIELD product and if I did, I would have steered clear.
