All downloaded apps immediately crash

same thing happens to me, except it started happening when i opened an app i recently downloaded... i tried restarting my iphone to no prevail. I really dont want to have to restore my phone

I see the same symptom quite a lot. Whenever that happen, I turn off the iPhone by pressing the black button on the top. Confirm the shutdown. Wait a few seconds, turn it on again. Everything return to normal.

Hold the power and the home button for 10 seconds simultaneously. This will fix the problem.

It worked for me before. But now I have the same problem again and the trick does not work. So I apologize for give the false hope.

Yes i have had this happen too i have found it is caused by the user either opening a app before the phone has connected to the network for the first time there is a short window for this but i have done it many times it can also be caused by downloading a app from the app store on the iPhone don't ask me why this is happening but it has done this many times for me and the most recent way that i have found is that when i transfer a app from my computer and it hangs and i click the X it will break down and i have only been able to fix all of these by a complete system restore however the issue come back the next time one of the above happens

I've been having the same issue. I've only downloaded free apps and will not download any I have to pay for till they resolve this.

Is there a way to rebuild permissions on the iPhone? That's what I'd do if my Mac were acting like this.

Same thing happened to me starting last night. Something must have happened because this is becoming common today.

My downloaded Apps have been like that for over a week now. I just learned to live without them while waiting for Apple's fix. Steve Jobs announced a few days ago that iPhone 2.1 firmware will fix the problem, so I was hopeful.

Today, I downloaded iTune 8 and iPhone 2.1 and sync my phone. The apps still failed as before. Now, I know that 2.1 has faster sync, so I simply unchecked the Apps in iTune, sync'ed to the phone. Then I checked the Apps again in iTune, and sync'ed one more time to the phone. i.e. one sync to remove them, the next sync to put them back. Now, the apps are working again.

This trick was not viable when each sync take 12+ hours to finish. Now the 2.1 firmware fixed the slow sync problem, we have an option.

my apps played up for past week but firmware upgrade and itunes upgrade seems to have fixed it for me.....touch wood - (maybe i ought to buy touchwood app)

Lucky you. 2.1 and iTune8 didn't fix my quitting app problem. I have to remove and resync them to make them work again. The only problem is that after you remove the app, you lose all the data that go with the app. My posting about this side effect was removed from the discussion board too. I am just glad there is a way to correct the issue now.
