Is there a way to do this? It seems to me that it would be simple (i say seems b/c i know nothing about what it would take). My computer sits turned on near my bed every night (i like to fall asleep to iTunes classical radio) and it would be convenient to use it to wake me up in the morning. Would come in handy when traveling as well.
As far as I can see the only way of doing it is pretty cluncky. You would need to schedule a task that starts iTunes to run at your desired wake up time.
You can schedule tasks from Control Panel>>Scheduled Tasks.
Here is a way of creating a bat file that you can schedule to start iTunes.
Create a new notepad document and paste the following line into it:
cscript startitunes.vbs //t:60
Save the file as StartiTunes.bat in the folder of your choice.
Create another new notepad document and paste the following lines into it:
Set iTunesApp = CreateObject("iTunes.Application")
iTunesApp.Sources.ItemByName("Library").Playlists.ItemByName("Party Shuffle").PlayFirstTrack()
Save it as Startitunes.vbs in the same folder as before.
Check that it works by double clicking on startitunes.bat, iTunes should start up and play Party Shuffle. You can change Party Shuffle to another playlist by editing the vbs file.
Now schedule StartiTunes.bat to run at your desired wakeup time.
I actually found a program called Alarm Clock Pro (http://www.koingosw.com/products/alarmclockpro.php). It integrates well with iTunes, and with just about any other file on your computer. It's easy to use (a must for me), but costs $20. I'm using it now on a trial basis, and if this puppy can wake me up (it sure as **** did this morning) i'll probably buy.
