Can't open iTunes Store

I appear to be unable to open iTunes Store or my Shopping Csrt. When I open iTunes, it looks like the store is trying to load (I get the stripy lines running across the top), but never does. I don't get any error messages & this is constantly happening. I have access to my libraries & everything in them, but can't get anything new. Also, whenever I try to close iTunes, it won'tUser uploaded file I have to Ctrl - Alt - Delete & close the application to close iTunes EVERY TIME. I have never had a problem with any of the previous versions of iTunes, so am at a loss as to what to do. PLease help as this is really starting to annoy me.

You appear to have 3 different problems, whether they are related, I am not sure.

Lets start with iTunes will not close.

If you use NO32 start here:

Disabling sharing in your iTunes Preferences may help.

If That's not it, closure problems have been associated with Bonjour. See this FAQ to see what Bonjour does.

http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2250?viewlocale=en_US

The article also tells you how to stop Bonjour, does this cure the problem. If so and you do not need Bonjour, you can uninstall it.

Finally the problem has also be associated with Apple Mobile Device Support. If you do not have an iPhone or Touch it can be uninstalled.

For the iTunes store, you need to post the results of your network connectivity tests.
iTunes Help>>Run Diagnostics>>Network connectivity tests.
Copy and paste the entire result into your next post.

A common problem if you upgraded is blocking by your firewall. Try briefly disabling it to see if that allows connection. If it does your firewall needs to be reconfigured to give access to the new version of iTunes.
Briefly disabling the firewall is not too dangerous provided you connect to the internet via a router.
