First off, make sure you let it charge for at least 30 minutes and that the computer did not go to sleep during that time.

Should be about 6 - 10 seconds before the off slider appears. I'd give it at least 6 or 7 tries, but again, make sure it has at least 30 minutes of continuous power and an hour might even be better in your case. I'd also invest in a wall charger.

Well i did give it sometime to charge when i got home but ill take your advice and give it 30 or an hour to charge. After that ill retry the hard reset and see if it worked then. Yes true i should invest in a wall charger I often find myselfot near a usb hub to charge my Ipod touch and I dont like being kept from listening to my music.

Hi appleuser2718.... I am curious, is your ipod touch working now? My ipod has done the same thing. I hadn't used it in awhile & i turned it on and there was 10% of battery remaining. I plugged it into my usb for about 2 hours & if didn't charge. The charging icon popped up on my screen though unlike yours, than it disappeared and won't turn on. I tried my wall charger, my car charger and my docking station. I'm just wondering if this may be a common occurence with the ipod touch. Good luck anyways, I'm gonna keep trying everything for mine.

Unfortunately no mine hasnt turned on yet. I actually let mine die completely and so far i havnt been able to get the screen to turn on. so far when i connect it it just warms up so that means its charging but i tried the hard reset and it wont turn on, hopefully i just need to keep trying the hard reset.
So does yours show up on your Computer?
