Printer for college student

I have a freshman in college who called me yesterday saying she's in need of a printer in her dorm. Going to the Union just doesn't cut it.

Any suggestions for a "college quality"-type printer?

(It's only been two weeks but the college keeps costing more and more!)

iMac G4, Mac OS X (10.4.11), 80G iPod, crappy Epson R200 printer

Hi RCM..

When I bought my MacBook I got my printer free, tho usually I believe they run around $100.00. Its an HP Photosmart C4280 All In One. I was skeptical because even tho the price was right, I work my printer HARD. It prints, scans and copys. It is compact (good for small spaces) yet doesn't sacrafice on size or quality. Color and Black and White, of course. Paper tray is on the bottom and it slides in and out so as not to get in the way. Copier and Scanner are on top. It's great. Oh! And loading the ink cartridges is reeeal easy. And since school is just starting, maybe they have another deal going! Hope this helps.

I got a Cannon MX300 free when I got my new MacBook. This thing is bullet proof and does a great job. It is rather large as printers go however, properly set up it does copy, scan, and fax. I've had HPs forever and the last few were just a little weak for printing school documents. I think the Cannon is less than 100 bucks.
