Audiobook does not show up in my iTunes library.

I purchased the 1st season of the Ricky Gervais show and while it'll show up as a recently added item or under "audiobooks", it will not show up in my main iTunes library.

Why?

Thanks!

There is no "main" iTunes library. One shows music/audio, another shows TV shows, another shows podcast . . . Your iTunes is working properly when it shows the book only under Audiobooks.

Library segregation leads to one big inconvenience: You have to choose which library to search in. A TV show you dragged over might have gone under Movies because of the forgetful ID tag. A podcast you drag over might show up in Music because it's missing the proprietary podcast flag. So finding things is a pain when you have to search two or more libraries. I wish the gray label "Library" were selectable so that we could choose that to perform a global search.

I have the same request.

Your is completely the opposite.

I would like to see the category of audiobooks in the Library instead of having to make them into a playlist.

You don;t have to. There is already a category of Audiobooks.
iTunes prefs -> General.
Under Show: tick Audiobooks.
This will put the Audiobooks category under Library in the Source pane (left side) of iTunes.

Audiobook does not show up in my iTunes library.
