changing feed for my podcast for itunes

hello, i started a podcast and the feed is thinkpinkradio.com/feed

quickly, since my blog is on wordpress.com, i figured out i need to do more to make itunes get more information from my feed. i set up an account at feedburner.com and my new feed is feeds.feedburner.com/thinkpinkradiofeed.

now what? itunes says to use the new feed tag which looks like <itunes:new-feed-url<

that is fine, but the reason i am using wordpress.com is that i do not know much about code and don't know what to do with this tag. itunes does not have tips or instructions that are easy to understand. short of deleting my podcast and re-adding it with the new feed url, what can i do in easy to understand steps?

The first and most important thing you need to do is contact your web host service provider and ask them to do a 301 redirect from your old feed URL to your new feed URL. That will automatically redirect iTunes and any subscribers to your old feed to the new address and iTunes will pick it up almost immediately.

The tag <itunes:new....> goes at the top of the old xml file for the old feed.

i contacted wordpress.com and requested that my feed be 301 redirected to my new URL as the person above stated.

wordpress responded by saying:

"I'm sorry to have to inform you that it is not possible to customize or redirect wordpress.com feeds at this time. However, I have added this conversation to our user suggestion list which is reviewed on a regular basis.

The best option I can suggest for you is to post a link to your FeedBurner feed at the top of your sidebar using a text widget. This is what other users typically do when they create FeedBurner feeds.

Note that because you are using the Digg 3 Column theme which displays the default wordpress.com feed links very prominently, you may have to change themes. Again, I'm sorry for the trouble.

i tries podcastblaster and that gives me a page of code that i don't know what to do with. i cannot change my blog theme.

will adding a feedburner text widget do anything besides allow my readers to click on it and subscribe to the feed? because i don't need that, i need this done for itunes.

do i just need to delete it and re-add it with the new feed url?

i tried submitting the feedburner feed URL to itunes and it gave me an error message, saying that the URL timed out.

i just went back to try again and itunes told me that the feedburner URl had already been submitted!

ARGH! i just sent a note to itunes via the "report a concern" tab.
