iPhone Update causing loss of data

Hi all

Just downloaded the latest update for the iPhone. On looking i found that i have now lost all contact details i had saved. There are now no contacts in my address book, Mobile Me or iPhone.

Does anyone know how to get these back?

iMac 20 dual core and iBook, Mac OS X (10.5.4), Leopard
