My boyfriend and I both have I-Pods he has a 4gb nano and I have a 30gb classic. Seeing as though he is a moron, and likes to play with mine, my i-pod is now synched with his library. How can I change this without erasing my entire i-tunes library which is twice the size of his.I NEED HELP PLEASE I may hurt him if there is no solution!!
A little clarification if I may? Are you using the same computer or two separate computers? I'm sure we can sort this out for you, with a little bit of thought....
Do you have the same library on the computer for both iPods, or do you have different libraries? If you're not sure, different libraries can be accomplished by holding Shift when you open iTunes or by having two different computer user accounts in Windows.
Disconnect the iPod and close out of iTunes entirely. Then, open up iTunes while holding the shift key and choose the library you'd normally choose when you're syncing your iPod. Once iTunes is open and displaying that library, connect your iPod and sync it.
I tried that now nothing is showing up in i tunes the library is blank. I'm at my wits end.Should I just do as it says and transfer my purchases and start from the beginning????
well, at this point, no. But, I think at this point, we should set about locating all the music and getting it organized into yours and his. At that point, I'd say the simplest way to set it up would be for each of you to have your own login account on the computer. Thus, you could each have separate libraries with a minimum of fuss. So, the first place to look is Documents>Music>iTunes and see that your music is all there. Is everything still there or do you need to look further for it?
Everything is still there i just need to know how to get it to show up in i-tunes so that i can properly synch my i-pod. I have tried everything and still have gotten nowhere.
