Hi, all. I know how to enlarge the text size by hitting the "command +" keys simultaneously, but then when I close Safari, the text size is back to the default size the next time I open Safari. I'd like the font size to stay large all the time. How can I do that? Thanks in advance for your help.

It is under Safari Preferences. Under 'Appearance' tab choose the text size you like.
Thanks, but I've tried twice, and the font sizes still appear the same when I re-open Safari. Do I have to do anything more than change the font sizes and click the little red circle?
This may not work in all websites. For example check the following website where it works
http://arxiv.org/list/hep-th/new And here is a website that does not respond to it
http://www.apple.com/hotnews I don't know the details of how the websites are designed.
Very nice. Thanks a lot. My wife is visually impaired and can't my Apple because the printing is so small. It will be nice for her to be able to use it now.
could someone help out a newbee and tell where to find the safari preferences.
I have looked all over in settings and am starting to fell like an idiot
Almost all software on mac has preferences (and thence, settings) in the drop down that appears when you click on the application name in upper left corner of window.
Systems Preferences, likewise, are available (always) by clicking on the apple logo to top left on all windows.
I hope you bought iWorks instead of MS Office since the same conventions apply to iWorks (Pages, Numbers, Keynote) and they cost less as well.
If you have an Apple store nearby, sign up for One to One instruction for $99 which gets you one hour a week of personal instruction for a year. They are amazingly pleasant, competent, and patient.
Welcome aboard. I have been loving my mac since Jan.
