Transfer iTunes from Windows to Mac

Hi,
I've recently purchased a Mac and now I want to transfer to it all the music I've got in iTunes. Previously I worked in a Windows system and all my iTunes content is there. I wonder if there is an easy and quick way to transfer 20Gb of music? (maybe connect the two laptops?)
Thanks for help!

These pages may be of some help:

Don't forget by the way if you have purchased any tracks from the iTunes Music Store to deauthorise your old PC if you are disposing of it so you don't use up your 5 allowances: About iTunes Music Store Authorisation and Deauthorisation

I think I'll jump on this thread, as it is pretty much exactly what I'm looking for... I've seen the lifehacker article before and it just seems a little too involved for me. I was wondering if I do decide to just use iTunes' backup feature and back up my library to DVD, will I be able to move that library from my windows machine onto my MacBook? I only have about 40GB of music so it'd take about 8-9 DVDs. It's quite a few but less work than the lifehacker article, I think.

Is it possible to do this and still maintain the album art and ratings? Thanks!

i had the same problem but i used my ipod you can transfer all your data from your windows to your ipod and then to your mac by finding the music files on your ipod.

all can be explained on this website

http://www.ilounge.com/index.php/articles/comments/copying-music-from-ipod-to-co mputer/P1/

i think it starts on page 2 (the information)

you need to download this program tinker tool to your mac (its free) it enables you to view hidden files which you need to transfer your music.

http://www.bresink.com/osx/TinkerTool.html
im not sure if the website mentions it because i haven't read it but ive seen it (it explains the solution better than i would with pictures etc).

oh and with this method it is possible to edit keep the album artwork and ratings as long as they are on your ipod

if you need any more help just say and ill be happy to help.
