Display drivers killing my CRT monitor
I recently purchased a G5 with the ATI radeon 9600 installed. I am using a dvi cable to my primary lcd monitor. No problem there. I am using the second port with a dvi - vga and using a Gateway CRT 700 monitor.
Only the drivers installed on OSX tiger were being used and both monitors were working except you could not change the resolution through the systems preference panel.
I installed the drivers for the radeon including the most updated drivers from their website. I now have plenty of options for the resolution but the 2nd monitor (the gateway 700) is now dark. I can only get it to display if I use mirror mode and then it looks like the refresh rate has gone haywire.
Anyone using a similiar setup? How can it be fixed?
Thanks,
Ymir
