How to create a iPod/Iphone Home Screen icon

My icon file is a 512*512 pixels PNG file. It works fine on my devices
during development.

And when I try to load to iTune, it seems like iTune can not display this
since it requires a 57*57 PNG file.

Could anyone show me how to convert this 512*512 PNG file to 57*57 PNG file?

I am a new Mac user and it will be appreciated if you can show me how to do it?

Thanks.

Are you talking about when you upload your app to iTunes Connect?

Your app needs to contain a 57x57 pixel icon in PNG format. It should be referenced in the Info.plist file - there's a property called "Icon file" in it. Drop the icon into your project in Xcode, and enter the name of the file, e.g. my appicon.png into the "Icon file" entry in Info.plist.

When you build your app for distribution, it will be included and iTunes Connect will check your zipped package for the correct icon.

If, however, you want to know how to make it a 57x57 pixel icon, simply use Photoshop or GraphicConverter or any of the other myriad paint apps to resize it.

Don't add the shine and rounded corners effect that you see on icons on the device, the iPhone/iPod touch will do that for you.
