Apple INK

I have a Wacom tablet and in my system prefs there is an INK application. It says INK recognizes my handwriting and converts to text in any documents. However, I can't find a way to activate this and get i working.

I've wondered about that, but haven't found a use for
Ink; but do know I can find a preference pane for Ink
if I use Find. (I forget about spotlight, it is too much.)

The path Find suggests to get to the "Ink.prefPane" is:
Macintosh HD> System> Library> PreferencePanes>
(and look for) Ink.prefPane.

"Ink without Paper - - When you connect a graphics tablet to your Mac,
OS X 10.x activates its Ink handwriting-recognition technology and
places an Ink item in your System Preferences. Ink lets you handwrite
text directly into any application with an active insertion point. As you
write, a sheet of virtual paper displays your handwritten characters,
and when you pause, Ink automatically converts your letters to text
and inserts them in your document as if you had typed them....

Unlike many handheld devices, which require you to master a special
alphabet, Ink recognizes your handwriting." - - from MacWorld, 2002.
