Getting backslash on mail setup

I am trying to set up an iPhone here in work and cannot find the backslash key. I am copying the set up of another iPhone, but cannot get in contact with the guy who did this one. Basically, in Exchange activesync, I need to have an email address of domain\username@domain.ie. The backslash key comes up fine if you are installing a POP account, but I cannot find it when installing an Exchange account.

Anyone have any ideas?

Actually this seems to be a problem on some iPhones and not others. I was helping a friend set up her email account and the backslash was nowhere to be seen. Even if you hit the #+= sign she gets a different keyboard then I do on my iPhone. We had both tried doing it side-by-side and checked that her keyboard setup was the same as mine. So I'm not sure what is going on with this problem.
