Will my SONY DVD RW DW-Q28A burn double layer discs?

I've looked up this disc drive online and noticed that sony does make a dual layer version but these specs don't indicate a DL. Does anyone know for sure if sony makes two versions of this drive?

The Sony is a dual layer burner (4x DVD±R DL).
There is but one model, however, the firmware for a Mac is quite different from that of a retail drive.
Apple has been thought to sometimes "cripple" a drives abilities within the firmware.

G5 Early 2005 models were equipped with 4x DL Superdrives.
Late 2005 G5's were equipped with 8x DL Superdrives.

Leopard supports DVD-R DL burning.
