"MS Office Schemas" Do I need this?

Hi Folks,

I am in the process of trashing files apps etc that I don't need.

I found a folder called Sync Services (84 kb on disk). Within that was a folder called Schemas (76 kb on disk).
In that was Microsoft Office Notes.syncshema (68 KB on disk).

What is it, do I need it?

many thanks,
eekahil

I find Sync Services folder both in Library & User>Library>Application Support, and Schemas in the 1st one.

You may not need the MS stuff, but 68K isn't worth a hoot these days, find some GB sized files to dump!

How much free space is on the HD, where has all the space gone?

Get Disk Inventory X...

Thanks for the advice.
I have been rooting around for things to trash - them there little 68k's sure add up.

As to that schema thing, thanks - I wasn't sure whether it was something essential to the operation of,say, MS Word.

Where this began today was , when trying to start anew with iTunes, I couldn't copy it from my eternal HD; not enough space on my Startup Disk.

I down'oaded both of the apps you suggested - they look to be more my speed; I'm a "pretty ponies and colours" , not at all "numbers ,data, paths" person.

All the best,
eek

Yep, 64 of them take up about one DVD's worth of space! 😉

At this point I think you should get Applejack...
http://www.versiontracker.com/dyn/moreinfo/macosx/19596

After installing, reboot holding down CMD+s, then when the DOS like prompt shows, type in...

applejack AUTO

Then let it do all 5 of it's things.

The 5 things it does are...

Correct any Disk problems.
Repair Permissions.
Clear out Cache Files.
Repair/check several plist files.
Dump the VM files for a fresh start.

First reboot will be slower, sometimes 2 or 3 restarts will be required for full benefit... my guess is files relying upon other files relying upon other files! 🙂
