Some photos were not copied to iPhone because they can't be displayed

After returning from a two-week vacation I synced my iPhone and received this error message:

Some of your photos, including the photo "DSC_1719.JPG" were not copied to the iPhone "Zach's iPhone" because they cannot be displayed on your iPhone.

Before I left, the pictures synced fine (I removed them from my iPhone to make room for more music).

In iPhoto I reverted the photo mentioned in the error message to its original file. That didn't help. And the photo in question is one from my wedding; I have numerous other photos from that data and camera, all of them seem to be syncing fine.

Any suggestions?

Thanks!

one thing that might help out.

Try creating a blank album or folder.
Do not put anything in it.
Then sync the iphone to the blank album or folder only.
This will erase any photos that you have synced to the iphone.
Now start with a small album or folder and sync a few pictures to the iphone.
If those photos work, then try some others until you get the error again.

Hope this helps.

Nope--sorry. I spent 45 minutes on the phone with an AppleCare rep the other day. He forwarded me a bunch of articles from the Apple website explaining what kinds of images were not compatible with the iPhone. None of that criteria, however, matched my photo.

He also had me clear my iPhone photo cache (sorry, I forget the file's actual name). While I no longer get the error message when syncing, the photos still don't sync.

While the error message just listed one picture, based on the number of photos in the album in iPhoto and the number of photos on my iPhone, it was clear that three pictures weren't syncing, but I wasn't sure what the other two photos were. He suggested trying to determine the other two pictures and then seeing what the similarities were among the three photos.

At that point though I just gave up and wrote off the problem as one I'll live with.

What kind of Camera did all these photos come from?

If you could. Go to google.com look up a random image in their image search, download it, and sync just that 1 image to the iPhone. Do you get the same message?

If it works. Then try the following

If you got access to a Thumb drive or External HD, or your PC/Mac has a split partition. Move on of your photo Albums to it. Then it iTunes direct it to that folder and attempt to syc. Does it sync over?

Also please ensure you all have latest Windows Updates, Latest iPhone update, and iTunes update.

Also if you have not checked this yet. Try another USB port to Sync photos from. And ensure you are not using a USB Hub and or USB Extended cable.

I had the same problem and managed to get around it but don't think it is 'solved' yet. Breifly, I had a nokia and had some photos I wanted on my iPhone. Managed to get these on no problems but then wanted some pic's from a camera which were save on my PC. Tried to sync and got the "can't be displayed" message.

I ended up copying the new photos to the same location as the one's from my old Nokia which had synced previously and they synced fine.

Don't know if this will help but hope it does.
