AppleMobileBackup.exe error message - help!!

I've had the same problem for a while now and haven't found an answer yet.

Do you get the same error in another User account?
This article: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1717 has steps that will walk you through creating another user account.

The issue may be caused by an application conflict. What security software is running on the PC?
Try putting the PC into a selective startup mode, that will resolve most application conflicts.

I just got off the phone with Apple support and did the user account thing and the problem went away. The only problem now is everything including my entire library is on the other account. I use Iolo System Mechanic pro for my security software. I never had this problem till the 2.0.2 (5C1) download.

I believe the the new user fixes the issue due to the fact that none of the preexisting files are being used . So there must be a conflict or corrupt file some where in the original iTunes directory that is not removed and or replaced during a reinstall. I will try this http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1275 and see if that works.

I think it might be a corrupted back up and uninstalling apple mobile device support and removing any remaining files could solve the problem.

I fixed it...
It was a corrupted back up file. I tested my fix by going to to C:\Documents and Settings\ USER\Application Data\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup and renamed the backup file folder and then connected my iPhone to iTunes and syncing. Everything worked great.

You can also try the tips in the first article I linked, under User-specific Troubleshooting.

If the security software did not launch in the new user account, it may need to be reconfigured in the primary account.

I went here.
C:\Documents and Settings\user name here\Application Data\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup
Enter your user name in the string for the account that your logged into windows with. Rename the folder under Backup. I just put org_ in front of the original name. Then start iTunes and try and sync your iPhone. This worked for me.

I tried all of the above but with no success. There was definitely something interfering with the apple mobile device .exe. I tryed changing the name of the backup folder but that didn't work. I decided to just transfer the backup folder to another computer in the same location and hey presto after 2 hours it finally put all my info (including texts) back on the iPhone. Problem solved.



I recomend this method if you are desperate to just retrieve your contacts etc and all other methods have not worked. Calling apple support just takes your through a long automated process of uninstalling and restarting things untill there is little left to do, although sometimes useful.

I have an iphone 3G and recently i got a problem with it.when the iphone dose it backup and reached is the end i got a error message. Can anyone help me with that please. I am using Windows Vista.i tried following what is here but i couldn't find the give bath because I am using Vista .
