PIONEER DVD-RW DVR-106D: will it burn dual layer dvds?

I think i know the answer but just want to confirm that it seems the internal PIONEER DVD-RW DVR-106D on my Mac G5 will NOT burn dual layer dvds. it gives me the option to in both DVD SP and Toast, but then when i put the DVD in it tells me it's not recordable. i"m using standard sony DVD+R DL discs.

MY SPECS
Dual 2 Power PC G5
3.5 GB RAM
OS 10.4.11
DVD SP 4
Toast 8

thanks....recommendations for a new one will be joyfully accepted!

i did do that...sorry to not include...here's what it says:

PIONEER DVD-RW DVR-106D:

Firmware Revision: A606
Interconnect: ATAPI
Burn Support: Yes (Apple Shipped/Supported)
Cache: 2000 KB
Reads DVD: Yes
CD-Write: -R, -RW
DVD-Write: -R, -RW, +R, +RW
Burn Underrun Protection CD: Yes
Burn Underrun Protection DVD: Yes
Write Strategies: CD-TAO, CD-SAO, CD-Raw, DVD-DAO
Media: No

i wasn't 100% sure that it would include the DL part, since it does state that it will burn +R. Any recommendations of a dual internal drive?

Hi-

The DVR-106 does not support DL burning.
A new Pioneer DVR-115 or DVR-116 will support DL burning, and support all current high speed media.
If available in your country (where?) the DVR-116 is the latest, and is quieter than the DVR-115. The DVR-116 also has new technology that provides the fastest possible, quality burns.
A source in the US is OWC.
