Why so many pages on one spreadsheet

When I create a spreadsheet, all fits on one page. However, on the left side it may say I have 2 pages or even 4. When I print sheet, all 4 pages print, but only one has the content I put in, the other three are almost blank or may print part of the top row or left column.

kendon,

To expand on WWJD's answer I might add that it's wise to preview your page before printing. (Go to Main Menu > View > Show Print View.) This will allow you to see if your table extends to additional pages and you can then decide how to get the table fit on one page. In addition to suggestions from WWJD, you may consider changing margin sizes and cell widths.
