This may be the dumbest question but is there a way to set preferences in iTunes so that songs appear in a descending order. I am not talking about clicking on Track # to make them descend or ascend. I am wondering if the songs will appear as 1 thru "x" in a descending order. I find it frustrating that the only way to listen to an album in it's proper sequence is to isolate it and make the tracks descend.
Yes, it helps. However, I like to view and organize iTunes by "Date Added" feature so that I can see and listen to what I recently imported. When you click on "Album by Artist" it automatically throws it into an alphabetical order of Album Title and defeats my preference of most recent imports.
Not really, short of importing files one-by-one in reverse order so date added decending would list most recenly added albums first, but in track order. Perhaps a smart playlist with date added is in the last 1 or 2 days and sorted album by artist would be a reasonable compromise.
If you"re wanting to have a folder for recently downloaded in descending order, what I did was to create a smart playlist with the paramateres being:
(date added)-(is in the last)-(x=#)-(months) , and checked box (live updating).
This will put everything you add, (including movies, TV shows, etc.) in a descending added list. You can then add second rule and say, (genre)-(does not contain)-(xxxx=whatever you don't want to see.)
Hi, there is also a 'Date Added' column option. It will sort your library [or whatever playlist you have it in] by Date Added [obviously] Like all other column options u can reverse it.
I used to find it frustrating trawling through my library to find a particular album or to have to make a new Smart Playlist, until I found this.
To switch it [or any other columns] to display, just right-click on the Sorting bar at the top, and click 'Date Added'. They are alphabetically sorted.
