Winston, you always seem to come thru when I post a need for help. I really like these forums as I am a techy and when I post, I'm in trouble.
I agree, maybe a doggie port. I did not know about the Cat 1 v. Cat 2 but I'm using the same cable purchased as the cable that runs from my Cable box to HDMI port 1 so I'm thinking that it's not the cable.
Is there any "hertz" setting etc., on either the TV or the ATV that could be doing this?????
I can tell you that it can't be the media itself because it begins with the AppleTV menu. Another note is that I'm using the SONY Bravia TV. It has 2 HDMI ports but the one I'm using can also be used (Port 2) for DVI to HDMI adapter. Wonder if that has anything to do with it but I doubt it.
Again, everyone, thank you so much. You must get the idea of what it's like to have a brand new TV and having issues with it.
On the other hand, the cable box put's out stunning 1080i on the HD channels and I can't wait to get the PS3 for Blu-Ray. (I went with the xbox HD-DVD extra box a while ago and of course made the wrong choice)
Thanks
Tom
