MactheRipper/Handbrake

Having a problem ripping DVDs using MactheRipper and then trying to convert with Handbrake. Not sure of which setting to use. I have Exract DVD-Rom Content (Full Disk Only) checked off in the pop up window, alone with Enable PGC Mode in Title/Chapter Mode checked. In the "Actions To Be Disabled On DVD pop up window I have nothing checked. In the main menu "Disc" window I have DVD_Video displaying and Region selected to ALL with "De-Macrovision" checked. In the "Mode" window I have it selected to "Full Disc Extraction". I even tried changing the "Mode" window to "Main Feature Extraction" and it asked for a region so I selected #1.
After rip I tried to use Handbrake and it didn't open any files that MactheRipper ripped. I have tried several other setting in MactheRipper and can seem to get what Handbrake needs. Anyone can help me with this? Any place to get How To info for MactheRipper? You can't use Handbrake to rip the DVD can you? I have yet been able to rip a DVD for my new video iPod.

I am also having some problems with Handbrake, I cannot get it to see the DVD in the drive, it scans it then says invalid volume, can someone confirm that Handbrake will only let you rip DVDs that are the same Region as your Mac is set to ? I am trying to rip a Region 1 disc on a Mac set to region 2, obviously MactheRipper ignores this but that even has trouble with some of the newer disc encription techniques.

I read the How To Rip To Your iPod Using Free Software (Handbrake). I had most of the same setting already but did notice a couple different one so I am trying them. However, I can't seem to get the SIZE of 320X240 with the ratio checked on. The only way I could get that was to uncheck the box for ratio. Also, it doesn't show the Encoder setting. I am using FFmpeg. Is that OK?

Got it to work finally! Thanks for the help Jeff & Jon! You guys are the best! I tried to rate your postings with the highest rating but it wouldn't let me. Everyone should read them The Instruction link you gave me Jef was really helpful.
Question: After getting things to work I tried some different settings in Handbrake. When I tried H.264 and saw the quality I loved it. However, I couldn't get it to the iPod. I used the setting on the "How To" instructions. There must be a setting or two that needs to be adjusted. Can you help here?
