connecting Macbook via USB to projector (or external monitor)
Hi, I'm trying to use a digital projector with my Macbook (white) and unfortunately I didn't bring the adapter for a VGA cable with on this trip. The projector I have has a USB port, an I do have a cable that connects to that. When I plugged it in the first time the Macbook thought I connected a keyboard or something, but then later it would not detect anything. So is it possible to use the Macbook's USB connection as a video out? How would I do that (I can't seem to find any settings or solutions in help or online). Thanks!
Maybe you can help. I just got a MacBook for my office (bought by my company). I want to use it to display a PowerPoint slide show I made. I also have a MacBook Pro. With the Pro, I simply put the computer to sleep, plug in the DVI cable to the data projector, and wake up the computer. When it wakes, it 'sees' the data projector and automatically sends the video image to the data projector. When I connected the Mini-DVI cable to the MacBook and data projector, nothing happened (used the sleep routine). I can't figure out how to send the image to the data projector. Can you help?
I have the same problem. I have a Macbook running Leopard. I'm trying to connect the DVI-to-VGA adapter to my HP XB31 projector. When the computer and projector are running, the display preference panel shows the presence of the projector. But the projector just displays "waiting for signal." I've tried resetting the display to 800 X 600 and restarting every which way. How do I get the MacBook to send the signal? Thanks.
