Windows XP on laptop crashes whenever I insert the USB cable.

Just bought a IPOD Nano and everytime I try to connect it to my laptop is crashes. Sometimes I see the 'new hardware connected' message but it always crashes. Anyone got a solution - I have tried resetting etc.

I have the same problem. I use a desktop that runs vista. I uploaded the itunes 8.0 yesterday and now everytime I plug in my ipod my computer crashes. I am so furstrated. I also cannot burn any cds. Everytime I try to burn one and error code (4280) pops up and it ejects my cd. If you find a solution please post it.
