TIP: Enabling Block Mode (CTRL-V/CTRL-Q) in VIM within an XTERM

Usually CTRL-V enables block mode selections in VIM
(i.e. you can select a rectangular region of text on the screen).
Where CTRL-V does not work (e.g. PCs), CTRL-Q will usually work.

I'm a new Mac user and neither worked in VIM running on an XTERM.
However executing 'stty -ixon' in the xterm before starting VIM enables
you to invoke block mode using CTRL-Q (you just won't be able to use CTRL-S and CTRL-Q to stop and then start the terminal output, which most people don't often use anyways).
