How can I block a website? Specifically "wsearch.net?"

How do I block a website on my MacBook? This "wsearch.net?" keeps popping up in place of what I have typed in. It also puts lots of pop-ups on my screen.

Thanks!

MacBook, Mac OS X (10.5.4)

Hi,
You can not block a website unless "Parental Control" is turned on. What I assume is that wsearch.net pops up in address bar when you start typing "w". If this is the case, you can delete history, cache and cookies to see if the problem goes away. Better thing is to do "Reset Safari" (its under "Safari" menu). Choose everything in the list. Make sure the website is not saved as a bookmark anywhere. Click on the little book icon in the "Bookmarks Bar" and search for the word "wsearch".

Unfortunately, resetting Safari will not solve this problem. . I know because the same thing has been happening to me recently, and doing a quick Google search will uncover an even bigger problem people have been having, specifically with SMC wireless Modems and this mysterious wsearch.net page. Do you happen to own an SMC modem? If so, check this link:

http://www.dslreports.com/forum/r20689069-FIX-for-wsearchnet-redirects-503s-on-S MC-wireless-modems

however I have not yet been successful at this 'fix' yet, maybe you will have better luck connecting to that IP address they provide... please let me know, if their suggestions work because it's been driving me up the wall as well.
