Can one copy the settings from one slide show to another?

I built a slide show of over 200 photos. The photos have individual timing adjustments and individual pan/zoom motion settings.
After I was done, I found a couple of photo glitches to correct. So now I need to make a new slideshow. I want all the settings from the old show to be in effect. It would be great if there were a feature that would let me apply the settings from the previous show (it is tedious to go through and reset the individual parameters for over 200 photos). Is there a feature to copy settings from one show to an updated version of the show, or is this something for the feature list for iphoto developers. Or perhaps if a slideshow itself contained only metadata about the photos rather than the photos themselves, the edits would automatically be incorporated and I wouldn't need to make a new show. Can anyone explain what the plan is here? Seems a mite unfriendly the way it is.

No one here can explain the "plan". This is a User to User forum, as I'm sure you recall from your careful reading of the Terms of Use you agreed to when you signed up for the Discussions.

Why not just correct the existing slideshow?

No, there is no way to copy settings from one slideshow to another.

iPhoto menu -> Provide iPhoto Feedback

Seems a mite unfriendly the way it is.

There are many other apps that will do slideshows. Perhaps they will do what you want. This search

lists more than 40.

I agree with TD's suggestion that you just correct the existing one. If you have already exported this as a Quicktime movie, you can still fix the problem photos and replace the old Quicktime file with the new, correct one.

There is a way that it might be done. If you select an album, click the play button at the bottom, setup the slideshow settings (can't do individual slide settings however) and then hit the Save button that folder will retain those setting. All of the other settings, transition, time and music will remain the same except for the KB Effect. It gets turned on when you duplicate. You can then duplicate that album, remove the photos, add new photos and you'll have the same slideshow settings for the new set.

TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto (iPhoto.Library for iPhoto 5 and earlier) database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've created an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger or later), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. It's compatible with iPhoto 6 and 7 libraries and Tiger and Leopard. Just put the application in the Dock and click on it whenever you want to backup the dB file. iPhoto does not have to be closed to run the application, just idle. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.

Note: There's now an Automator backup application for iPhoto 5 that will work with Tiger or Leopard.
