Video backgrounds in Keynote

Video backgrounds in Keynote

Does anyone know how I might get video backgrounds working properly in keynote?

By working properly I mean have a video beneath data that doesn't stop/pause/restart when you change slides. I'm looking for a hidden setting or plugin.

This is not possible in Keynote -- each Keynote slide it treated as having its own instance of the video. There are other presentation applications that allow this, and you might check out Brian Peat's list of presentation software to see if there is a useful alternative suitable for you.

KeyStation uses the very cool Quartz Compositions for backgrounds, but they do not continue to run across slides -- each slide change restarts the animated background.
