New Visualizer Is a Hurt Piece

Enough said. Interesting for about 5 seconds, and then you realize that the little globes dancing around the screen are never going to go away.

I remember watching the visualizer on an Imac G3 back in the day, and being shocked at how diverse and constantly changing the patterns were. It has gone down hill ever since.

Oh, Cool. My bad. I was freaked out that they would release a new visualizer and only have the one template. Notably, the classic visualizer appears to be slightly more sophisticated than the last edition, I've notice more of the random-nature visuals that I was talking about in my original post.

It's still a shame that you can't combine them all into a big melting pot of random visuals, because each of them are pretty cool in their own right, but don't stand on their own for a long period of time (except for the classic)

Thanks for the insight though

Alex

Take a look here. It seems there is more to the visualizer than meets the eye.

In case you haven't tried it yet, press ? when you have the new iTunes visualizer open for more control options:
? -- Toggle help screen
M -- Change mode
P -- Change palette
I -- Display track info
C -- Toggle auto-cycle (on by default)
F -- Toggle Freeze mode
N -- Toggle Nebula mode
L -- Toggle Camera Lock

Enjoy.

I have a problem with my itunes 8 visualiser, i can play a song fine and turn on the visualiser (which automatically goes into full screen) now i liked in itunes 7 to have the visualiser in normal screen, however now when i do it there is this annoying flashing light at the bottom right of my screen. If someone could mimic this for me and see if they're getting the same problem? or recommend a solution

Thanks!!

These controls change everything. I will say, that I noticed an interesting anomaly. Intalled on 10.5, you get 5 different viewing options, including Lathe and two other new apparations. On 10.4, you only get access to classic, and the regular visualizer.

Anybody else notice this, or did I get a rare version of the install on my Imac?
