keyboard short cut for sleep mode

Open Keyboard and Mouse preferences, click on the Shortcuts tab. Scroll to bottom of list and select Applications, then click on the [+} add button and select Finder from the drop down menu. In the dialog enter the word Sleep, then press the shortcut keys you want to assign - for example OPTION-Z. Now when you press those keys the computer will go to sleep.

I'm new to sleep mode, but I've been using command-option-eject (without setting a custom keystroke) — seems to work OK.

I just move my mouse around.

Just click the mouse or press any key, however at first it didn't work right (had to push the power key too). Zapping the PRAM did the trick.

how do you do that ( i have the same problem with waking it up)
