Pen drive LED blinking

I have a MacBook Pro and when I connect my Kingston Pen Drive into the USB the LED starts bliking even if I am not working on it. It does not happen in the PC. Is this normal?

Macbook Pro, Mac OS X (10.5.4)

Blinking = Disc Access so I'd assume OSX is just Mounting the drive on connection, does it appear on the Desktop OK ?

Yeah, it appears on the Desktop. But, my question is even if I am not accessing any file from the Pen drive, why does the LED keeps blinking? Or it is normal to blink all the time that the memory stick is connected?

it really depends on the brand and model of the drive. generally, blinking = working. but maybe this particular drive you have just wants to blink all the time on a Mac. it really isn't going to make any difference whether it blinks all the time or not as long as you can still eject it safely.

I already used the same drive in another Macbook, with Mac OS Tiger. And it works the same as in the PC, blink only when it is working. And sometimes, in my MacBook Pro, I tryied to eject the drive, but it did not work out, when I do that the drive starts to work well (like in PC and other Macbook).
I will try to contact Kingston (the brand of my drive) to ask about it, because I use it at home and at my job.

I tryied to use another Kingston pendrive, and it works the same. I dont know why, but I think that all Kingston pendrives in MY Macbook works the same.
