The Bonjour service has been disabled.

Updated tunes,(veer:8) airport no longer works. I get this dialog, "The Bonjour service has been disabled. Bonjour is required to share music with others. Please re-enable the service to use this feature." UN-installed Bonjour, re-installed Bonjour. Still doesn't work. Hopefully some GENIUS & Apple can figure it out and post a fix. It all worked fine prior to the update. How do I re-enable Bonjour?

Fixed. Un-installed iTunes v8 and installed iTunes 7.0. Had to dump a "iTunes Library.itl" file on the install but who cares. It's all better now. Hopefully the Apple GENIUSES will get it figured out one day. These guys don't give a hoot about what they put out here, it's all about newer, better. Not always. Seems like the Apple GENIUSES need to do more homework and less ballyhoo.

to re-enable in vista you would go to control panel, admin tools, services, and bonjour is in the list, right click and start

unfortunately this hasn't fixed the same problem on my machine. tried reinstall of all software (itunes, bonjour for windows) no anti virus or spy installed on system....

may have to down grade until a patch has been released

I've been experiencing this issue as well, both before and after upgrading to I8, and both before and after upgrading to Bonjour 1.0.5. Typically, iTunes will launch properly after a roboot, but if it's shut down and relaunched the error message re: Bonjour will appear and my AirPort Express won't be found (so I can't stream to my stereo via AirTunes).

In response to Snoop Dogg's post, Bonjour Console Utility accesses the Internet, registers Foobar, gets a reply, and reports that the name is now registered and active. For what it's worth, iTunes still can't find my AirPort Express after running the command.

I'm running TrendMicro 8.0 SP1 for anti-virus and ZoneAlarm 7.0.483.000 with the 5.0.189.0 version of the anti-spyware engine for my firewall. Both may have auto-updated recently, but I can't say one way or the other with certainty.

The Bonjour service has been disabled.
