Anyone got a Samsung Tocco F480 mobile+used Samsung iSync plugin and works?

Hey I had abit of trouble with the isync tocco plugin - you need to go into you phone settings, pc connections, and the click your phone to sync as a pc studio -worked for me

I have had the F480 for a while (firmware F480XXHDA) and it first worked then gave the network error then worked then returned to the network error message on updating to 10.5.5.

I normally found this could be stopped by setting the F480 settings for PC connection to Ask on Connect Plus removing the bluetooth link between F480 and Mac

then removing the bluetooth settings on the Mac. the starting from scratch (it appears its trying the DUN connect instead of data exchange) but since 10.5.5 this has not worked.

has apple altered the way the bluetooth settings work in 10.5.5

UPDATE
For the Tocco to work without the reset or PIM errors you MUST update the firmware on the F480 aka Tocco to at least F480XXHF7 June 2008 (XX is the code for Europe) but latest update will end HF7 depending on your region.

To do this you need access to WINDOWS and the firmware flasher and download only run under windows. set your phone in flash mode (remove SD card & SIM, then Volume down, Camera and power/red keys together) then install the flash following the instructions on this site.

Make sure you remmeber where you've put these files as you'll need to browse to them when using multiloader. There are .rar files and need unzipping BEFORE trying to open the Loader

Preparing your phone:

I am assuming here that you've already installed Samsung PC Studio and it works fine with your supplied USB cable.

NOTE: Flashing your phone will delete all your contacts, calender, settings ringtones etc.

You probably want to back up all your files and contacts. I recommend syncing your contacts etc. with Samsung PC Studio and copying over your files on your phone to your memory card or PC (your memory card will not be touched).

Once that's done remove any memory card you may have and then remove the SIM card. Put you battery back in. Your phone should be off at this point. Hold down the 'Volume down' key (The bottom rocker button on the left side of your phone) and the camera button and press the power on button (some of you may have to press the middle button, as well as the above buttons to go into flash mode). Your phone should start up into a wierd screen with downloader v.5.32 or something and some boxes. It's now ready to be flashed.

Using Multiloader:

Open multiloader. It should look something like this without all the settings selected (The middle section should be blank!):

NOTE: The striked out 'W's are justbackward slashes, don't worry about that.

Then press the AMSS button on the left side and browse to the firmware files you want to flash (unzip/rar them as necessary). Go to the binary folder and then select amss_compressed. Do the same for Rsrc1,Rsrc2 and FSS selecting the appropiate files as shown in the above pic. Plus the boot folder.

You should now be ready to flash. Connect your phone to your comp and then click download in multiloader. AT THIS POINT DO NOT TOUCH YOUR PHONE/DETATCH THE CABLE/SWITCH OFF YOUR COMP. Your phone should have a status indicator with percentages and this should be reflected in multiloader. The process should tkae about 5 minutes thgouh I'm not sure about that. Once it's done your phone will restart twice by itself. Once this is done it should start up as normal into the widgets page. It's now complete.

Congratulations on flashing your phone. You can now repalce your SIM and Memory card and set up your phone the way you like it.

Hi, I tried to flash my phone to the new firmware using the tutorial posted earlier. I must have done something wrong as my phone won't even turn on now! Can anyone help? I'm pretty gutted!

Could you please give me a link - or a good idea of where to download the isync plugin for the Tocco.

I might be being a little myopic, but I've looked and looked on the Samsung website and simply cannot locate it anywhere, and all I've accomplished is giving myself a headache.. 😟

Flashing your mobile breaks the warranty on the phone!! Is there another way?? I did find this link, which looked pretty helpful...will try it later and let you know.

I synced mine with a Mac and then my work PC, after connection to the PC it failed at home on my Mac....
