should i get the black ipod or the white

Without a doubt - GET WHITE. If you have any doubts about how they will hold up, go into an elotronics store and look at the ones on display. The black iPods look terrible after awhile - you can see every finger smudge and scratch much more clearly than on the white ones. Plus, all the accessories are white, and the black looks kind of dumb with them. The black also looks very plastic and cheap to me.

I got a black 30 because all of my previous ipods have been white (I have had them all) and most importantly on a side by side comparison the videos and picture look way better on the black. (notice tv's dont come in white very often, and silver ones generally have a large black border) and about the scratches, I put a psp screen protector on it.

Based on the smudge-factor on my PSP, and after looking at what happened with black Nanos, I chose the white. I really like it a lot. HTH.

It depends on your preference, but personally I prefer white. I find the black one looks cheaper for some reason, especially the clickwheel. Also the black one shows scratches more easily.

Both iPods will scratch equal, but just like a car, white hides them better. I got the White.

I got white mostly because all of my other ones were white, but i as others have pointed out, the black one probably wont age as gracefully

I got the 30 GB white. Both white and black look cool but black will definitely show more wear.

I have a white 60GB in my possession as we speak but can't decide if i want to keep it or not and trade it for the black. i have seen the black in person and you can see your finger smudges and scratches easier on black...

I bought the black and waits for its delivery. I have a white 30g 3G with red lights, which still looks great and a 4g Click wheel whose grey colored wheel turned awful. I went for the black in hope that the wheel will not turn the same way, and wanted to go for a change.

Inconsciently I may have thought it was worthwhile to buy the black the same prize as the white one, as the black U2 iPod used to be the more expensive. This is really ridiculous I must confess..

I wanted to go with the black one because I have a PSP and just the thought of something black is cool in my eyes.But like the other guy said,black ipod kinda looks cheap.If the click wheel was the same black as the surface then Id go for it...but this is like gray/black and I dont like it.Keep it real-white : )

I got black just because i have the black motorola razr phone...so it matches...that was my only reasoning

I use my iPod mostly in my car. My car is black, with a black interior and black tinted windows. So the iPod simply had to be black too.
