new nano will not charge in ihome

just got 8gb nano and love it, but have always used my bedside alarm clock ihome to charge and dock my first and second gen ipods. put this new one one and get message on nano screen that this accessory will not charge the ipod. Still plays music fine though. Software problem? or not a usb 2.0 higher power connector on ihome?

I just bought the new nano to replace my corrupted ipod. i have the bose speakers, the ihome2 go, a car charger, and a stereo connection. All 4 devices played AND charged my ipod while in use. Now, the new nano plays, but will not charge. Based on what I've read in this discussion, the new technology doesn't allow it to charge. Are there any devices or "add ons" i can use to update my devices?

I also battled with keeping my new ipod charged up. I had 2 accessories that would charge my 2nd gen which of course no longer work with the 4th gen. I am completely dissapointed in Apple for making that change without warning or notice. I ordered the "passPORT" from Scosche Industries, Inc. and just received it yesterday (it was on backorder since early October). IT COMPLETELY FIXES THE PROBLEM! It is an adaptor that works with both my countertop ihome and my FM transmitter car charger. I will mainly leave mine in my car but when i want to I can use in my ihome. THANK YOU SO MUCH SCOCHE!!!!!!!! Shame on you Apple. http://www.scosche.com/products/productID/1667
