I'll know tomorrow when my nano shows up. I picked up a Belkin cardbus USB2 card today that came with a power adapter. I can't see any reason why this wouldn't work. The computer can see the USB2 ports, and the external power supply should supply adequate power to charge the nano if the computer can't supply enough power on it's own (I know it can't power firewire drives on it's own through cardbus)...
I got my Nano today and it works with the Belkin card flawlessly. It's charging as I type this, and it took less than 10 minutes to fill it with 3.6 gigs! Also, I found the Nano will still charge even if I disconnect the external power supply.
