Windows and Mac

How easy would it be to use my Macbook internet connection via Airport in a Windows XP desktop computer connected using an ehternet cable?

See what I mean?

If i have the two computers directly connected with an ethernet cable will i be able to use internet coming from the mac in window XP?

MacBook 2.2GHz C2D 2GB 667 MHz DDR2 SDRAM, Mac OS X (10.5.4)

i'm thinking of this precisely because the router does not seem to work with the desktop computer. I installed a wireless receptor on it but the connection doesn't seem to take more thant 5min or so... it just goes down, the connection lost, no more wireless networks available, have to shut down the desktop computer, altough everything works fine on the mac connected to exactly the same wireless network!

So i wondered if it was simple to suck the internet conncetion from the mac to the windows PC..

any idea?

Have you tried connecting the Windows PC to the router via an ethernet cable?

How far away is the mac from the router-is it the same distance, or farther, or closer?

Also, what kind of router is it (i.e. 802.11b, 802.11g, 802.11n)?

the mac is a MacBook it can be as far as i want!

the router is in the leaving room, where the cable modem is, and the PC in my room.

And it says is both g and n compatible

I'm guessing it's a problem with the PC's wireless card, and it wouldn't be solved by sharing the mac's connection.
Go on the PC maker's support site, and see what they suggest-maybe get a new wireless card for the PC-be SURE it is wireless "N" enabled.
