Hi, I'm trying to pass audio thru my Audio In port to my Audio Out port on my Macbook Pro. I am using Mac OS X and when I go to Audio MIDI Setup and set the Default Input to be Built-In Input and Properties For: Built-In Input - I want to check the Thru boxes under Audio Input but they are greyed out. Can anyone help me out? I am looking to enable this feature for both channels and have audio pass through my system.
"Thru" is only for external audio devices with hardware audio pass-through. Built-in Audio Input does not support it. You need to use an application to copy the audio to the output. It can be done by Garage Band, but it is simpler with LineIn. Scroll down a bit on:

For some reason LineIn doesn't work for me anymore. It used to, but now it isn't doing it's thing. I thought the Thru thing could produce the same effect. Thank you though.
In Audio MIDI Setup, set "Properties For" to the input, and the output, and make sure they both are set to 44,100 Hz, 2ch-16bit, and the volume sliders are to the right.
